Inspirational Life Story True - The Wood Cutter and Axe

This story that i am going to narrate might be known to those who have read Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. There was a wood cutter who went looking for job. Since he was highly skilled he got a job immediately with one of the timber merchants. He had a decent package to take care of himself and family. His work environment was also good. He liked his boss and his environment, so he felt he should give his best. He was given an axe and an area was designated to him. It was here he was suppose to chop the trees. On the first day he was able to chop 18 trees, he felt happy and so was the boss. The boss congratulated the wood cutter, which naturally motivated the wood cutter to perform better. while on the second day he was able to chop only 15 trees. He was wondering what happened. Then he thought tommorrow i can make up for the deficit. Third day he was able to chop only 12 trees. Day after day the number of trees he was able to chop was going down. He was feeling the pressure and also feeling guilty. He thought he was losing his strength and thought let him go and share with his boss. Boss listened to him carefully and asked him a simple question "When was the last time you sharpened your Axe?"

"Sharpen? i had no time to sharpen my axe. i have been very busy trying to cut trees.."
